My name is David Neuman and, from an early age, I developed a passion for both dogs and bird hunting.  In adulthood, I was able to combine these passions into a hobby and business.  Maker, our first WPG, was welcomed into our home in 2019 and has been an amazing addition to our family.  I felt so passionate about sharing my love of this breed, we embarked on the process of breeding and Driftless Wirehaired Pointing Griffons, LLC, was born.

To say our first breeding was a success is an understatement.  All 5 puppies tested from that breeding passed the NAVHDA Natural Ability test with 2 receiving a maximum score of 112. 

 

At Driftless Wirehaired Pointing Griffons, our primary goal is to breed exceptional family and bird hunting dogs. We understand our clients are looking for a companion that not only excels in the field but also seamlessly integrates into their daily lives. As such, our breeding program focuses on producing well-rounded dogs that excel in both areas.

 

To achieve this goal, we carefully select breeding pairs with excellent hunting and conformational characteristics. Our dogs undergo health screenings to ensure they are free from hip, elbow and eye diseases and have a sound physical structure. Additionally, we pay close attention to temperament, selecting dogs with friendly, outgoing personalities that are eager to please.

 

Our breeding program prioritizes early socialization, exposing our puppies to a variety of people and experiences from a young age. The puppies are raised in our home and exposed to our children daily.  This socialization process helps our dogs develop into confident, well-adjusted adults that are comfortable in a range of environments.
